Phoenixville Fitness Studio Holds 'Ride and Run' To Raise Funds For Mesothelioma Research
"After helplessly watching my dad fall victim to this disease, it is my responsibility to spread awareness and find a cure."

PHOENIXVILLE, PA -- A local fitness studio is hosting a special ride and run event for Mesothelioma research after the father of one of the instructors passed away from the disease.
Phileo Method will host the special class on October 23 from noon to 3 p.m.
They had a stated goal of raising $1,000 through the class, but have already raised $1,300 as of Friday afternoon.

Instructor Alexandra Costa said that her father worked in a pipe-fitting factory where he had to routinely scrape asbestos off the walls without any personal protection other than a paper face mask. The company knew the risks, but Costa and other workers did not.
"After helplessly watching my dad fall victim to this disease, I feel it is my responsibility to become active in spreading awareness and finding a cure," Costa wrote.
