Phoenixville's Colonial Theatre To Celebrate New Wing Opening Friday
A series of special events will commemorate the historic opening of the Colonial Theatre's newly constructed wing this Friday.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — A series of special events will commemorate the historic opening of the Colonial Theatre's newly constructed wing this Friday.
The wing, which was originally built as the Bank of Phoenixville before becoming home to the Daily Republican and Phoenix newspapers, was purchased by the theatre in 2011. An $8 million expansion began last year.
“Our members and the community have been waiting so patiently for this day,” said Mary Foote, Executive Director of the Association for the Colonial Theatre. “Rather than simply say ‘We’re open’, we decided to invite everyone to come celebrate this historic event with a series of special movie screenings. Our celebratory theme is movies that focus on Hollywood and filmmaking – with a few award-winning crowd pleasers thrown in for good measure.”
