Phoenixville's Kimberton Fire Company To Receive $38k Grant
One local legislator is making sure that his local fire company is well taken care of.

Phoenixville’s Kimberton Fire Company will be receiving a $38,710 grant o contribute to operations and safety, thanks to one local lawmaker.
U.S. Rep. Ryan Costello (R-PA 6) announced the funding that will be provided by a joint effort between the Department of Homeland Security, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and the U.S. Fire Administration.
“Kimberton firefighters will use these vital funds to purchase necessary safety and operations equipment to keep our communities safe,” Costello said in a statement. “Growing up in Phoenixville, I know how tirelessly local firefighters work to protect our neighborhoods.”

In Fiscal Year 2014, FEMA’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program will award approximately $340 million directly to fire departments and non-affiliated EMS organizations to enhance their response capabilities and to more effectively protect the health and safety of the public and emergency response personnel with respect to fire and other hazards, Costello’s office said.
“This grant will help them continue bringing quality services across five townships of Southeastern Pennsylvania,” Costello added. “We all appreciate their service. ”
