Join HYS instructor Mick McAndrews for a weekend Workshop of Plein Air Watercolor Painting on the grounds of beautiful Historic Yellow Springs. We will paint a variety of outdoor subjects with a focus on using the biggest brushes possible with plenty of water and plenty of pigment to exploit the wonder and intrinsic beauty of the medium. We will avoid the pitfalls of noodling with fussy detail so we can experience the “magic” of watercolor. We will discuss the importance of good drawing skills including an understanding of perspective while developing an understanding of the elements and principles of design to create works uniquely our own. Above all we will enjoy our precious painting time together because painting is fun!
