Royersford Accident Delays 422 Coming Into Phoenixville

An accident on U.S. 422 eastbound near Royersford delayed traffic leading up to Phoenixville on Tuesday morning, fire officials and commuters said.

Linfield Fire Department responded to the scene of a multi-car accident that blocked all lanes of traffic at around 8:45 a.m.

Police, fire, and ambulance units were on the scene, but no serious injuries were reported.

Commuters were able to get around the traffic by driving on the shoulder for a brief time, they reported.

Traffic was heavily backed up near the scene of the accident and continued moving slow through Phoenixville and all the way up to Collegeville.

It is not yet known what caused the accident.

Traffic began to clear up in eastbound lanes within a few hours.
