Solamiya Ivakhiv - violin, Melvin Chen - viola, piano at the Kimberton Inn Tuesday, August 16th

World class chamber music at the Kimberton Inn, Tuesday, August 16th at 7:30. Solamiya Ivakhiv - violin and Melvin Chen - viola, piano

The world-class Chamber Music series presented by the Kimberton Arts Alliance continues with the scintillating combination of Solomiya Ivakhiv on violin and Melvin Chen on viola and piano!

Ukrainian born violinist Solomiya Ivakhiv has quickly earned a reputation for performing with “distinctive charm and subtle profundity” (Daily Freeman, New York) and a “crystal clear and noble sound” (Culture and Life, Ukraine). Known for her work as a soloist and chamber musician, she regularly appears on prestigious solo concert series in North America, Europe, and Asia, and her performances are often broadcast on National Public Radio, Voice of America Radio, Ukrainian National Radio and Television, and Chinese Hunan Television.
Pianist Melvin Chen is one of the few musicians who can claim to be a virtuoso performer on more than one instrument: he holds master's degrees from the Juilliard School of Music in both piano and violin performance. While he has centered much of his concert activity in the United States with appearances at Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Frick Collection, Jordan Hall in Boston, the Chautauqua and Bard Music festivals, and numerous other major venues, he has also regularly concertized throughout Europe and Asia. He has performed on Korean radio and television (KBS) as well as on Japanese television (NHK), and in the U.S. over National Public Radio.

There will be a cash bar before each concert and at intermission. The Kimberton Inn offers a 10% dining discount to concertgoers.

Single concert $20, Student $12.
