Thousands Raised for Phoenixville Woman Diagnosed with Rare Type of Cancer
The Phoenixville community responded when a local woman, a wife and a mother of three, was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA -- The Phoenixville community responded when a local woman, a wife and a mother of three, was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer.
Elena Zenchenko was diagnosed in November of 2016. Her family describes the cancer "one of the most dangerous and aggressive cancers - classified as grade 4."
As she continues to fight the spreading cancer, her health insurance is scheduled to expire in 12 weeks.

Her family put out a call on GoFundMe for assistance with medical bills. In the day since the fundraiser was established Sunday, 19 donors had already contributed $3,400 toward a goal of $75,000.
