WEATHER ALERT: Tornado Watch in Effect for Portions Of Pennsylvania

The watch is in effect until 10 p.m. Monday night.

An 80-degree weekend looks to have been a precursor for hazardous weather, including a possible tornado.

A tornado watch is in effect for multiple counties in southeastern Pennsylvania until 10 p.m. Monday night, according to the National Weather Service.

Those counties include: Adams, Bedford, Berks, Blair, Bucks, Cambria, Chester, Cumberland, Dauphin, Delaware, Franklin, Fulton, Huntington, Juniata, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lehigh, Mifflin, Montgomery, Perry, Philadelphia, Somerset and York.

A tornado watch is issued when conditions are favorable for tornado development. During the designated time, people should be prepared to move to a safe place if threatening weather approaches.

The tornado watch is in addition to possible thunderstorms Monday afternoon and Monday evening. The thunderstorms may bring strong wind gusts and hail along with cloud to ground lightning.
