Train Carrying Petroleum Derails Over Pa. River
Twelve of the train's 88 cars went off the tracks.
A train derailed over the weekend, leaving multiple cars dangling in mid-air over a suburban Pennsylvania river and scaring passersby.
Some 12 cars of the CSX train bound for McKeesport derailed around 11 p.m. Saturday, a company spokesman told The Associated Press. The cars were dangling off a bridge over the Youghiogheny River.
The 88-car train was carrying light petroleum. There is no evidence that the petroleum leaked into the river, the company said.
The McKeesport Marina was evacuated as a precautionary measure, the AP said.
There is significant damage to the tracks.
