Travel Restrictions Scheduled On U.S. 422 In Chester County

Drivers on U.S. 422 should allow additional time to travel next week.

TREDYFFRIN, PA -- Travel restrictions will be in place on U.S. 422 in Tredyffrin next week for conduit installation, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced Wednesday.

The right lane is scheduled to close periodically on eastbound and westbound U.S. 422 between the U.S. 202 and First Avenue interchanges in Tredyffrin Township, Chester County, on Monday, November 28, through Thursday, December 1, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, officials said.

Motorists are advised to allow additional time for travel on U.S. 422 during this operation because slowdowns may occur. The contractor’s work schedule is dependent on the weather, PennDOT said.

The operations are part of PennDOT’s $97.4 million project to build new, wider structures to improve travel on U.S. 422 at ridge crossings.

PennDOT began construction on this transportation improvement project in February 2016 and the project is scheduled to finish in May 2020.
