Tredyffrin Woman Sentenced to Jail For Dealing Heroin In Phoenixville

A 62-year-old Tredyffrin woman has been sentenced to jail after pleading guilty to selling heroin in Phoenixville and the surrounding area.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA -- A Tredyffrin woman was sentenced to 90 days in jail on Friday for selling heroin, according to court documents.

Lynne C. Twaddle, 62, was originally arrested on July 21, 2015 at the conclusion of a four-month investigation into area heroin sales, Tredyffrin police said.

During an undercover investigation, police recovered 250 bags of heroin. Authorities also said that they had contact with a dealer at Twaddle's residence of the 800 block of Pugh Road at least four times.

“Concern over the impact of opiate drugs on the Mainline has prompted pro-active police investigations such as this one,” Tredyffrin Detective Sergeant Todd J. Bereda said in a statement. “We have gone to great lengths to attempt to identify those engaging in distributing pills and heroin and have a zero tolerance approach in this line of enforcement. The most important thing to do is to de-mystify this drug and those that it has touched. Every family has a friend or loved one struggling with an addiction.”

Attorneys said that Twaddle first became addicted to narcotics after she was prescribed painkillers following two hip surgeries in 2015, Philly.com reports.

She pleaded guilty to possession with intent to deliver heroin in August.

According to court documents, Twaddle will enter a drug treatment program following her time served in jail.
