Two Trapped In Wreckage After Head-On Crash On Route 422

A head-on crash on Route 422 in the early hours of Thursday morning left two individuals trapped in the wreckage, according to eyewitnesses and police.

At about 2 a.m., an SUV got onto 422 at the Oaks exit going the wrong direction and hit a car head on in Upper Providence.

Both drivers were trapped in the wreckage of the ensuing accident and had to be rescued.

The driver of the SUV sustained minor injuries, while the driver of the car was taken to a hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries.

The road was closed briefly while the accident was cleared.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
