Upper Providence Officers Honored For Lifesaving Actions

Officer Scott Reynolds, Officer Michael Sheehan, and Officer James Enright are heroes.

UPPER PROVIDENCE PA -- Three Upper Providence Police Department officers were recently honored for their lifesaving actions during a call in April.

Officer Scott Reynolds, Officer Michael Sheehan, and Officer James Enright were given a Police Chief Commendation at a May 2 Board of Supervisors meeting, according to meeting minutes.

The recognition came in the wake of a call to a home on Egypt Road where a man was found lying on the ground not breathing, according to the Pottstown Mercury.

Reynolds applied a shock with an Automatic External Defibrillator before performing CPR, the report states.

Sheehan assisted with CPR while Enright obtained the needed medical information and coordinated with responding EMS units, according to the report.

At the Supervisor's meeting, testimony from an EMS crewmember reflected the "expert" work of the three officers which led to the victim being resuscitated and making a full recovery.
