Valley Forge Road Lane Closures Set For Pier Construction

Traffic will be delayed as vehicles are controlled by flagging on Valley Forge Road.

Traffic will be delayed as vehicles are controlled by flagging during pier construction on Valley Forge Road (Route 23) early next week, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced.

Closures will be in place on Valley Forge Road between Moore Road and Gulph Road beginning Monday, May 1, and extending through Tuesday, May 2. Closures will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The construction is part of the ongoing $97.4 million project to improve bridges across the Schuylkill River.

Motorists should allow additional time to progress through the area. Backups are expected, officials said.

J.D. Eckman is the general contractor on the project.
