Volunteers Needed for Arbor Day Tree Planting In Phoenixville
Help out and plant a tree in Phoenixville, and make the world a better place this Arbor Day.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA -- Organizers are looking for additional volunteers to help the borough plant 20 trees this Saturday, April 22 to celebrate Arbor Day.
According to organizer Randy Morin, the trees were purchased via a grant from the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society as part of their TreeVitalize program and Plant One Million campaign.
Trees will be planted along streets throughout Phoenixville and in Reeves Park.

Volunteers should meet at Reeves Park at 9 a.m. Saturday.
Representatives from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and the Borough will read an Arbor Day Proclamation. The Arbor Day Foundation will also be awarding Phoenixville with a Tree City USA Growth Award. This will be followed by a demonstration planting after which the group will split up and plant the other 19 trees.

Phoenixville residents who think managing and maintaining the urban forest in the Borough is important should contact their council person and let them know they would like to have additional public trees planted in their wards. You can find contact info for Borough Council here.
