Volunteers Raise $108K For Single Phoenixville Parents In School

A massive fundraiser has resulted in a $108,000 donation to help low income, single parents in Phoenixville seeking higher education.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — A local group of volunteers has raised $108,000 to support a local nonprofit that helps single parents in the Phoenixville area who are pursuing higher education.

The money, raised amid the coronavirus outbreak, will be given to Mom's House of Phoenixville to fund individuals in the low income bracket, who are facing even greater pressures during the pandemic.

“I wouldn't be who I am today without all the support and love my son and I received from Mom’s House,” said Nancy Fountain, a graduated mother of Mom’s House and current board member. “Every penny provides an opportunity for single parents like myself and their children for a better life.”

The campaign was put together by 37 volunteers from Next Level Trainings, a leadership organization, who had started the project with the goal of raising $76,000. They exceeded that.

“Having the support of Next Level Trainings feels like a miracle," Wendy McKeon, Director of Mom’s House, said in a statement. "During these uncharted times, we feel so grateful to have volunteers like this group to stand up for our most vulnerable and make sure no one gets left behind.”
