Water Rescue In Progress In Mont Clare At Lock 60

Eyewitnesses reported hearing a "scared" man yelling for help from the water.

Sirens sounded throughout the borough late Monday night and into the early hours of Tuesday morning as a water rescue progressed in the Schuylkill River near Lock 60 in Mont Clare.

Rescue crews were initially called to the Towpath near the railroad overpass at 11:39 p.m.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing a man that sounded scared yelling for help from the water.

Law enforcement with flashing lights were still gathered in the parking lot of Lock 60 at about 12:30 p.m.

Both an EMS and fire crew were on the scene, according to Montgomery County’s Active Incident Dispatch.
