West Pikeland Addresses Sewage Management Concerns

At a recent public hearing, citizens voiced their concerns over dealing with any crap in the future.

WEST PIKELAND, PA -- The West Pikeland Board of Supervisors held a public meeting on a new sewage management ordinance going into effect in the township.

The hearing took place March 21 and involved questions and comments from the general public.

Another town meeting on the issue will take place sometime during the week of April 11 through April 18.

Officials hope the next meeting will allow all residents an opportunity to learn more about the Ordinance and provide input before any decision is made by the Board in May.

Along with other issues, the new ordinance "further permits intervention in situations which may constitute a public nuisance or hazard to the public health." It also outlines how to address sewage spills, especially in cases where sewage may leak into the soil, and how to prevent discharges of untreated sewage.
