12-Year-Old Hospitalized After Being Bullied On School Bus
The boy's father said he might need surgery after being injured by a bully's punch.

PITTSBURGH, PA - A fifth-grader had to be hospitalized after a bullying incident re-aggravated a stomach injury the boy suffered last year. Andrew Wilson, 12, might need surgery, his father told WTAE-TV.
The Connellsville School District student has been bullied on his school bus for the past month by another student who has poked and punched him. After being punched in the stomach last week, the boy came home in tremendous pain.
Brian Upton, Wilson’s father, said his son was shot with a pellet gun last year and the pellet went through his intestines. He said the boy’s bowel had become twisted by the punch and might need to be surgically corrected.

Upton said the school district ignored complaints about the bullying before the boy was injured by the punch. District officials did not respond to WTAE request for comment.
