2 Charged In Pittsburgh-Area Teen's Hit-And-Run Death
The teen was struck last week while riding his electric bike and later died.
BUTLER TOWNSHIP, PA — Two people have been charged in connection with a 15-year-old's hit and run death last week.
Joshua Rivera, 38, is accused of striking Aiden Lutz, who was riding an electric bike on Dutchtown Road on Thursday, and then leaving the scene. Aiden, a Butler Senior High School sophomore, died from his injuries Sunday at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Rivera faces numerous charges, including with aggravated assault by vehicle, accidents involving death or injury while not licensed, accidents involving death or personal injury,accidents involving damage to attended vehicle or property, reckless driving, driving with a suspended license, and failure to notify police of an accident.

Rivera's girlfriend, Nicole Kelly, 31, faces a hindering apprehension charge. She and Rivera were together at a Comfort Inn in Butler when Rivera was arrested.
Rivera is being housed in the Butler County Prison. He has a Nov. 2 preliminary hearing scheduled.
