2 PA People Charged In Killing Of Their 5-Year-Old Adoptive Son
Two Westmoreland County residents allegedly abused their child to the point of his death, authorities say.
DELMONT, PA — Two people are in custody following the death of their adoptive 5-year-old child in January.
Westmoreland County District Attorney Nicole W. Ziccarelli announced that charges have been filed against the boy’s mother, Lauren Maloberti, and her husband, Jacob Maloberti. The charges are related to the death of Landon Maloberti.
Lauren Maloberti is charged with criminal homicide, first-degree murder, endangering the welfare of children, two counts of aggravated assault of a child, and criminal conspiracy.

Jacob Maloberti is charged with criminal homicide, endangering the welfare of children,two counts of aggravated assault and criminal conspiracy.
Landon was initially taken to AHN Hempfield on Jan. 30 after becoming unconscious. He was taken to Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh where he was under care until dying on Feb. 7.

A forensic examination revealed previous injuries and abuse evidence, according to Ziccarelli.
Both defendants are currently in the Westmoreland County Prison and awaiting arraignment.
