2 People Found Shot To Death In Pittsburgh Apartment

PITTSBURGH, PA — Two people are dead following a shooting Wednesday morning in the city's Northview Heights neighborhood.

Four children were in the Hazlett Street apartment where the shooting occurred. They were unharmed.

According to Pittsburgh Public Safety officials, police were called to the scene around 9 a.m. for a two-round ShotSpotter alert. They then received multiple calls about a shooting in the apartment.

Officers found a man and a woman dead on the second floor of the residence.

The two people who died were identified as Shaelynn Maria Moore, 30, and Mark Allen Jones, 24,

None of the children were harmed, and no other injuries were reported.

The Mobile Crime Unit and Violent Crime Unit detectives arrived to process evidence at the scene, including recovered shell casings.

The initial investigation indicates the incident is domestic in nature, but the exact circumstances are still under active investigation.

Public safety officials said there is no ongoing threat to the community.
