2 Steelers Stars Hurt, Could Miss Multiple Weeks

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Steelers will be missing two critical players for an undetermined amount of time, coach Mike Tomlin announced Tuesday.

Defensive lineman Cam Heyward and wide receiver Diontae Johnson both were injured in Sunday's devastating 30-7 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, the opening game of the 2023 season. Heyward suffered a groin injury and Johnson has a hamstring injury.

"Losing Cam is significant," Tomlin said at his weekly news conference.

He did not offer a timetable for Heyward's return. Johnson likely will miss at least Monday night's game against the Cleveland Browns at Acrisure Stadium and could be out longer.

Offensive lineman Chuks Okorafor remains in concussion protocol.
