2 Wounded In Pittsburgh-Area Shootings

Two men were wounded in separate shootings in and around Pittsburgh.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Two men were wounded in recent separate shootings in and around Pittsburgh.

At 4 p.m. on Thursday, Pittsburgh police were called to the intersection of Beechview Avenue and Broadway Avenue for reports of an adult male shot. The victim, who is in his early 20s, was found on a grassy area adjacent to the sidewalk.

He was taken to a hospital and is in critical condition.

A male stayed at the scene and surrendered to police. He was transported to headquarters for questioning along with two witnesses.

Allegheny County police on Thursday announced the arrest of a man in connection with the Aug. 13 shooting of a man in Scott Township. The victim suffered wounds to his torso and arm and was taken to an area hospital and is stable condition.

Juwan Hayes, 26, was charged with aggravated assault, burglary, robbery, theft, and firearm violations. He currently is being housed in the Allegheny County Jail.
