FNB has signed a 20-year lease to rent 160,000 square feet - more than 40 percent - of the building's office space. The bank currently is headquartered on the North Shore.
The building is expected to jump-start development at the arena site, which has been stalled since U.S. Steel backed out of plans to construct a new headquarters at the site in 2015.
In addition to the new office tower, the $1 billion redevelopment of the property is expected to include housing, offices, retail, a music venue, food hall, hotel and an 850-space parking garage.
