4 Wounded In 2 More Pittsburgh Shootings

Tuesday proved to be another violent day in Pittsburgh, just days after three people died in a North Side shootout.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Three people were shot Monday night in the city's Carrick neighborhood.

Police responded to a Shotspotter alert at Mount Oliver and Louis Way at around 10:30 p.m. They found a man with a gunshot wound to the leg near Brownsville Road and Laughlin Avenue. He was taken to a nearby hospital.

A short time later, two other victims self-transported to at an area hospital with gunshot wounds.

All victims’ conditions were believed to be stable at time of transport or treatment, Pittsburgh Public Safety officials said.

The investigation is ongoing. No one is in custody at this time.

Also on Monday, police responded to Shotspotter alerts at around 10 a.m. for a total of 13 shots fired in the 7200 block of Kelly Street in Homewood. They found a man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen who was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Three males were detained at the scene and police recovered a firearm.

Those shootings occurred just two days after three people died in a shooting on the city's North Side. Two of the three victims were innocent bystanders who were waiting to catch a bus and were hit by the gunfire.

Additionally, a man was shot early Sunday at the intersection of East Carson Street and South 14th Street in the South Side. The victim, whom police say was wounded during an altercation, was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
