5 Reasons Not To Hibernate At Home In January, Pittsburgh

  • “Love Never Dies,” Jan. 2-7, Benedum Center

This PNC Broadway in Pittsburgh production is the sequel to “The Phantom of the Opera.” It takes place 10 years after the Phantom’s disappearance from the Paris Opera House and chronicles the Phantom’s new life in New York. He’s having an OK time amid Coney Island’s freak shows and screaming joy rides, but he still yearns for Christine Daae, his one true love and musical protege.

  • Pittsburgh RV Show, Jan. 6-14, David L. Lawrence Convention Center

  • Dancing With The Stars Live: Light Up The Night, Jan. 16, Benedum Center

  • Cirque Du Soleil: Crystal, Jan. 17-21, PPG Paints Arena

You probably already know this, but this PNC Broadway in Pittsburgh production focuses on the goings on in the Land of Oz, but from a different angle. Long before Dorothy arrives, there is another young woman, born with emerald-green skin—smart, fiery, misunderstood, and possessing an extraordinary talent. When she meets a bubbly blonde who is exceptionally popular, their initial rivalry turns into the unlikeliest of friendships - until the world decides to call one “good” and the other one “wicked.”
