5 Seneca Valley Students In Line For National Merit Scholarships
The five students are competing for a National Merit special scholarship.

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA — Five Seneca Valley seniors - Madelyn Gross, Grace Hines, Julia Lingenfelter, Cooper Sainiak and Tyler Yurich - were named candidates in the competition for a special scholarship to be awarded through the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program.
A special scholarship is a corporate-sponsored award. To be considered, students must meet the sponsor's criteria and the entry requirements for the National Merit Scholarship Program. They also must submit an entry form with the sponsor.
Gross’s sponsor is the Liberty Mutual Scholarship Foundation,Hines is W.W. Grainger, Inc., Lingenfelter is the PPG Foundation Sainiak is The UPS Foundation and Yurich’s is the Norfolk Southern Foundation.

Every year some 1,100 National Merit Program participants are awarded special scholarships provided by corporations and business organizations.
The students will be notified if they are winners in March 2022.
