Active Police Incident Prompts Lockdown At Pittsburgh-Area School

SHALER TOWNSHIP, PA — Burchfield Primary School is on lockdown while police and the North Hills Special Response Team are on nearby Oakmoor Drive, where a man has barricaded himself inside a home.

Police have said the situation at the home began as a domestic incident. The man's wife and children were able to safely exit the residence.

Police say there is no immediate threat to the school or nearby residents. They are asking parents of Burchfield students not to come to the school.
