Allegheny Co. Reports More Than Two Dozen New Coronavirus Deaths
Here are the latest coronavirus case statistics for Allegheny County and southwestern Pennsylvania.
PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department on Friday reported 26 new coronavirus deaths, the largest total ever reported in a single day during the pandemic. The county death toll now stands at 570, up from 544 on Thursday.
The county reported911 confirmed and probable new cases. There have been 31,454 cases since the outbreak began in March. That's up from 30,543 on Thursday.
There have been 2,189 hospitalizations in the county during the outbreak. That's up from 2,140 on Thursday.

The 830 confirmed cases came from 2,794 new tests - a positivity rate of29 percent. To put that number into perspective, the positivity rate for tests across the state between Nov. 24 and Nov. 30 was eight percent.
With 10,043 cases in Westmoreland County, 4,987 in Washington County, 4,894 in Butler County and 4,422 in Beaver County, that brings the total number of cased to 55,900 when Allegheny County numbers are included. That's up from 53,956 on Thursday.

According to the state Department of Health, there have been 1,110 deaths in the region from the virus: Five hundred and seventy in Allegheny County, 219 in Westmoreland County, 156 in Beaver County, 82 in Butler County and 73 in Washington County. That's up from 1,074 on Thursday.
