Allegheny Co. Sees Another Coronavirus Death, New Cases Top 100

Here are the latest coronavirus case numbers for Allegheny County and southwestern Pennsylvania.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department on Saturday reported one new coronavirus death. The county death toll now stands at 207.

The county reported 135 new cases. Positive results are from tests that span July 3 through July 17. The total number of cases in the county during the outbreak is now 6,135.

In the newest cases, ages range from nine months month to 99 years old with the median age being 45.

Five hundred and seven people have been hospitalized in the county during the outbreak. No new hospitalizations were reported.

With 1,089 cases in Westmoreland County, 893 in Beaver County, 518 in Washington County and 456 in Butler County, that brings the total number of cases in the five-county region to 9,170 when Allegheny County numbers are included.

According to the state Department of Health, there have been 348 deaths in the region from the virus: Two hundred and seven in Allegheny County, 80 in Beaver County, 40 in Westmoreland County, 13 in Butler County and seven in Washington County. Beaver reported one new death.
