PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department has issued a consumer alert for Caribbean Village Fusion, on Cable Place in Oakland, for numerous health violations.
A May 5 inspection at the restaurant found one decomposed rodent under the mop sink and one in a closet near the chest freezers in a side room area.
Dropping were found on the floor along walls in the restroom and on shelving that holds shortening.

Ants were present in a back room.
Other high-risk violations: Multiple food contact surfaces were soiled, including two knives hanging with clean knives at a sink; a container that had just been warewashed and a metal container.

A restaurant with a consumer alert placard is allowed to operate for a temporary period not exceeding 10 days. Another inspection is conducted either prior to the expiration of the temporary period upon request of the eatery owner or on the tenth day.
