Allegheny County: 2 New Coronavirus Deaths, Nearly 200 New Cases
Here are the latest coronavirus case numbers for Allegheny County and southwestern Pennsylvania.
PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department on Friday reported two new coronavirus deaths. The county death toll now stands at 221.
The deaths occurred on July 1 and July 22, according to the health department. The ages of the victims were 54 and 89.
The county reported 198 new cases out of 2,225 test results. Positive results are from tests that span July 6 through July 23. The total number of cases in the county during the outbreak is now 7,015, up from 6,817 on Thursday.

In the newest cases, ages range from two months to 97 years old with the median age being 42.
Five hundred and seventy-three people have been hospitalized in the county during the outbreak. Twenty-two new hospitalizations were reported.

With 1,234 cases in Westmoreland County, 1,053 in Beaver County, 613 in Washington County and 519 in Butler County, that brings the total number of cases in the five-county region to 10,434 when Allegheny County numbers are included. That's up from 10,193 on Thursday.
According to the state Department of Health, there have been 368 deaths in the region from the virus: Two hundred and twenty-one in Allegheny County, 82 in Beaver County, 41 in Westmoreland County, 14 in Butler County and 10 in Washington County.
