Allegheny County Coronavirus Cases Continue Large Surge

Here are the latest coronavirus case numbers for Allegheny County and southwestern Pennsylvania.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department reported no new coronavirus deaths on Sunday. The county death toll remains at 186.

However, 96 new cases were reported, the most in a single day since the outbreak began. The number of cases during the outbreak in the county now stands at 2,568.

Of the 96 new cases reported, the ages range from 3 to 84, with 27 being the median age.

Three hundred and eighty-two people people have been hospitalized in the county during
the outbreak. There was one new hospitalization on Saturday.

With 638 confirmed cases in Beaver County, 587 in Westmoreland County, 284 in Butler County and 187 in Washington County, that brings the total number of cases in the five-county southwestern Pennsylvania region to 4,264. That's up from 4,168, but that number reflects only the number of new cases in Allegheny County as the state does not update its numbers on weekends.

According to the state Department of Health, 321 people have died thus far in the five-county
region: One hundred and eighty-six in Allegheny County, 78 in Beaver County, 38 in Westmoreland County, 13 in Butler County and six in Washington County.
