Allegheny County Coronavirus Cases: Largest Increase Yet

Here are the latest coronavirus case statistics for Allegheny County and southwestern Pennsylvania.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Allegheny County's confirmed coronavirus cases have increased to 133 as of 11 a.m. Thursday, the county health department announced. That's up from 88 confirmed cases on Wednesday and 58 confirmed cases on Tuesday.

Twenty people are hospitalized with the coronavirus in the county, up from 13 on Wednesday.

With 16 confirmed cases in Westmoreland County, 12 in Butler County, 10 in Washington County and seven in Beaver County, that brings the total number of coronavirus cases in southwestern Pennsylvania to 178 as of Thursday morning. That's up from 117 on Wednesday morning and 79 on Tuesday morning.

There have been two coronavirus deaths in southwestern Pennsylvania, both in Allegheny County.

By sex, there have been 70 female and 63 male coronavirus cases.

According to Pennsylvania Department of Health figures, Allegheny County has recorded the fourth-most coronavirus cases in the state behind Montgomery, Philadelphia and Delaware counties.

Residents of Allegheny County and six eastern Pennsylvania counties remain under a two week stay-at-home order issued March 23 by Gov. Tom Wolf.
