Allegheny County Has One New Coronavirus Death, Cases Dropping

Here are the latest coronavirus case numbers for Allegheny County and southwestern Pennsylvania.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department on Tuesday reported one new coronavirus death. The county death toll now stands at 291.

The latest victims was in their 70s and was associated with a long-term care facility.

The county reported 45 new cases. The total number of cases in the county during the outbreak is 9,549.. There have been 887 hospitalizations in the county during the outbreak.

With 1,627 cases in Westmoreland County, 1,410 in Beaver County, 910 in Washington County and 723 in Butler County, that brings the total number of cases in the five-county region to 14,219 when Allegheny County numbers are included.

According to the state Department of Health, there have been 467 deaths in the region from the virus: Two hundred and ninety-one in Allegheny County, 94 in Beaver County, 48 in Westmoreland County, 17 in Butler County and 17 in Washington County.
