Allegheny County Jail Guard Delivered Drugs To Inmate: Police
The correctional officer, who has since resigned, faces multiple criminal charges.

PITTSBURGH, PA —A former Allegheny County Jail correctional officer is accused of bringing drugs into the jail. County police said Raymond Toomey, 34, of Pittsburgh was charged Monday with contraband, criminal conspiracy, possession with intent to deliver and other offenses.
The arrest resulted from an Internal Affairs investigation at the jail that began when a corrections sergeant noticed Toomey having contact with an inmate that violated proper procedure, police said.
The unidentified inmate was searched and authorities found a substance believed to be synthetic cannabinoids.

Toomey was questioned and later permitted police to search his car and home. Suboxone was found in the vehicle; police found money they suspect was paid to Toomey for drugs and a phone suspected to be used for arranging contraband deals.
Data downloaded from the phone identified the same inmate and the individual who was suspected of providing the contraband and payment to Toomey as being involved. County police said similar charges will be filed against the inmate and another person.
