Allegheny County Launches Online Recycling Drop-Off Finder
The new website should make it easier to dispose of items such as batteries, electronics or tires, county officials said.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Allegheny County has launched a new online recycling drop-off finder. It includes a searchable database and map to help residents identify drop-off places for disposal or recycling, including hard-to-recycle items.
The online tool is available here.
The county health department will continue to have additional information on recycling available on its web page. The information currently found in the recycling resource directory will be updated to prevent duplication of the finder, but will still provide information to residents.

The new recycling drop-off finder does not contain information on curbside pickups but provides support to residents searching for what to do with items like batteries, electronics, or tires. These items are typically ones not accepted in curbside programs.
It also should be helpful to residents living in the 14 of the county's 130 municipalities that do not have access to curbside recycling.

Users can filter the resources by selecting several categories and can also search for specific materials, companies, or by zip code. The map feature allows for zooming in to filter options by location as well.
