Allegheny County Reports Double-Digit Coronavirus Deaths

Here are the latest coronavirus case numbers for Allegheny County and southwestern Pennsylvania.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department on Wednesday reported 13 new coronavirus deaths. The county death toll now stands at 273.

The county reported 70 new cases. The total number of cases in the county during the outbreak is 9,078.

Seven hundred and thirty-eight people been hospitalized in the county during the outbreak. One new hospitalization was reported.

With 1,555 cases in Westmoreland County, 1,332 in Beaver County, 862 in Washington County and 677 in Butler County, that brings the total number of cases in the five-county region to 13,504 when Allegheny County numbers are included.

According to the state Department of Health, there have been 440 deaths in the region from the virus: Two hundred and sixty in Allegheny County, 92 in Beaver County, 47 in Westmoreland
County, 15 in Butler County and 13 in Washington County. Westmoreland reported one new death.
