Allegheny County Reports Eight New Coronavirus Deaths
Here are the latest coronavirus case numbers for Allegheny County and southwestern Pennsylvania.
PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department on Tuesday reported eight new coronavirus deaths. The county death toll now stands at 217.
The deaths occurred between July 8 and 19, according to the health department.
The county reported 96 new cases out of 1,617 test results. Positive results are from tests that span July 7 through July 21. The total number of cases in the county during the outbreak is now 6,670, up from 6,574 on Tuesday.

In the newest cases, ages range from one to 92 years old with the median age being 37.
Five hundred and thirty-six people have been hospitalized in the county during the outbreak. Sixteen new hospitalizations were reported.
With 1,193 cases in Westmoreland County, 1,011 in Beaver County, 592 in Washington County and 508 in Butler County, that brings the total number of cases in the five-county region to 9,974 when Allegheny County numbers are included. That's up from 9,677 on Tuesday.

According to the state Department of Health, there have been 362 deaths in the region from the virus: Two hundred and seventeen in Allegheny County, 81 in Beaver County, 40 in Westmoreland County, 14 in Butler County and 10 in Washington County. Butler County reported one new death.
