Allegheny County Reports Five New Coronavirus Deaths

Here are the latest coronavirus case numbers for Allegheny County and southwestern Pennsylvania.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department on Wednesday reported five new coronavirus deaths. The county death toll now stands at 234.

The latest victims died between July 14 and July 24. They ranged in age from 70 to 90.

The county reported 125 new cases out of 1,310 test results. Positive results are from tests that span July 8 through July 28. The total number of cases in the county during the outbreak is
now 7,593.

In the newest cases, ages range from one year to 98 years old with the median age being 52.

Six hundred and thirteen people have been hospitalized in the county during the outbreak. Ten new hospitalizations were reported.

With 1,313 cases in Westmoreland County, 1,127 in Beaver County, 681 in Washington County and 562 in Butler County, that brings the total number of cases in the five-county region to 11,585 when Allegheny County numbers are included. That's up from 11,296 on Tuesday.

According to the state Department of Health, there have been 387 deaths in the region from the virus: Two hundred and thirty-four in Allegheny County, 85 in Beaver County, 44 in Westmoreland County, 14 in Butler County and 10 in Washington County. Beaver reported three new deaths, Westmoreland one.
