Allegheny County Reports Nearly 200 New Coronavirus Cases

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department on Monday reported no new coronavirus deaths. The county death toll remains at 222.

The county reported 180 new cases out of 1,929 test results. Positive results are from tests that span July 9 through July 26. The total number of cases in the county during the outbreak is now 7,474.

In the newest cases, ages range from two years to 101 years old with the median age being 45.

Five hundred and eighty-three people have been hospitalized in the county during the outbreak. Two new hospitalizations were reported.

With 1,271 cases in Westmoreland County, 1,101 in Beaver County, 654 in Washington County and 544 in Butler County, that brings the total number of cases in the five-county region to 11,117 when Allegheny County numbers are included.

According to the state Department of Health, there have been 371 deaths in the region from the virus: Two hundred and twenty-two in Allegheny County, 82 in Beaver County, 43 in Westmoreland County, 14 in Butler County and 10 in Washington County.
