Allegheny County Reports No New Coronavirus Deaths
Here are the latest coronavirus case numbers for Allegheny County and southwestern Pennsylvania.
PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department on Monday reported one new coronavirus death. The county death toll now stands at 242.
The county reported 68 new cases out of 1,104 test results. Positive results are from tests that span July 9 through Aug. 2. The total number of cases in the county during the outbreak is 8,310
In the newest cases, ages range from eight to 96 years old with the median age being 37.

Six hundred and eighty-six people been hospitalized in the county during the outbreak. One new hospitalization was reported.
With 1,438 cases in Westmoreland County, 1,232 in Beaver County, 756 in Washington County and 602 in Butler County, that brings the total number of cases in the five-county region to 12,338 when Allegheny County numbers are included.

According to the state Department of Health, there have been 403 deaths in the region from the virus: Two hundred and forty-two in Allegheny County, 89 in Beaver County, 46 in Westmoreland County, 15 in Butler County and 11 in Washington County.
