Allegheny County Reports One New Coronavirus Death
Here are the latest coronavirus case numbers for Allegheny County and southwestern Pennsylvania.
PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department on Saturday reported one new coronavirus death. The county death toll now stands at 240.
The latest victim 's age was in the 80s, according to the health department. The person died on July 29.
The county reported 66 new cases out of 1,459 test results. Positive results are from tests that span July7 through July 31. The total number of cases in the county during the outbreak is
now 8, 160, up from 8,094 on Friday.
In the newest cases, ages range from one to 90years old with the median age being 37.

Six hundred and eighty-one people been hospitalized in the county during the outbreak. Twelve new hospitalizations were reported.
With 1,490 cases in Westmoreland County, 1,212 in Beaver County, 740 in Washington County and 597 in Butler County, that brings the total number of cases in the five-county region to 12,069 when Allegheny County numbers are included. That's up from 11,981 on Friday.

According to the state Department of Health, there have been 400 deaths in the region from the virus: Two hundred and forty in Allegheny County, 88 in Beaver County, 46 in Westmoreland County, 15 in Butler County and 11 in Washington County. Westmoreland County reported one new death.
