Allegheny County Reports Seven New Coronavirus Deaths

Here are the latest coronavirus case numbers for Allegheny County and southwestern Pennsylvania.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department on Tuesday reported seven new coronavirus deaths. The county death toll now stands at 229.

The latest victims died between July 23 and July 26. They ranged in age from 75 to 95. All appear to be related to long-term care facilities.

The county reported 119 new cases out of 1,804 test results. Positive results are from tests that span July 10 through July 27. The total number of cases in the county during the outbreak is now 7,593.

In the newest cases, ages range from ten months to 97 years old with the median age being 50.

Six hundred and three people have been hospitalized in the county during the outbreak. Twenty new hospitalizations were reported.

With 1,313 cases in Westmoreland County, 1,127 in Beaver County, 681 in Washington County and 562 in Butler County, that brings the total number of cases in the five-county region to 11,296 when Allegheny County numbers are included. That's up from 11, 117 on Monday.

According to the state Department of Health, there have been 378 deaths in the region from the virus: Two hundred and twenty-nine in Allegheny County, 82 in Beaver County, 43 in Westmoreland County, 14 in Butler County and 10 in Washington County.
