Allegheny County Sees Six New Coronavirus Deaths

Here are the latest coronavirus case numbers for Allegheny County and southwestern Pennsylvania.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department on Friday reported six new coronavirus deaths. The county death toll now stands at 257

Five of the victims were in their 80s and one was in their 90s. Four of the deaths were associated with long-term care facilities.

The county reported 97 new cases out of 1,897 test results. The total number of cases in the county during the outbreak is 8,709.

In the newest cases, ages range from one to 86 years old with the median age being 33.

Seven hundred and twenty-one people been hospitalized in the county during the outbreak. Eight new hospitalizations were reported.

With 1,484 cases in Westmoreland County, 1,280 in Beaver County, 808 in Washington County and 637 in Butler County, that brings the total number of cases in the five-county region to 12,918 when Allegheny County numbers are included.

According to the state Department of Health, there have been 420 deaths in the region from the virus: Two hundred and fifty-seven in Allegheny County County, 91 in Beaver County, 46 in Westmoreland County, 15 in Butler County and 11 in Washington County.
