Allegheny County Sees Six New Coronavirus Deaths
Here are the latest coronavirus case numbers for Allegheny County and southwestern Pennsylvania.
PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department on Friday reported six new coronavirus deaths. The county death toll now stands at 304.
The newly reported deaths are of one person in their 50s, one in their 60s, one in their 70s, two in their 80s and one in their 90s. Dates of death range from August 13-19 and four of the cases are related to long-term care facilities.
The county reported 80 new cases. The total number of cases in the county during the outbreak is 9, 7687 There have been 915 hospitalizations in the county during the outbreak.With 1,678 cases in Westmoreland County, 1,447 in Beaver County, 941 in Washington County and 737 in Butler County, that brings the total number of cases in the five-county region to 14,559 when Allegheny County numbers are included.
According to the state Department of Health, there have been 486 deaths in the region from the virus: Three hundred and four in Allegheny County, 95 in Beaver County, 49 in Westmoreland County, 21 in Washington County and 17 in Butler County.
