Allegheny County Tops 10,000 Coronavirus Cases

Here are the latest coronavirus case numbers for Allegheny County and southwestern Pennsylvania.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department on Wednesday reported eight new coronavirus deaths. The county death toll now stands at 317.

Two of the victims were in their 60s, four were in their 70s, one was in the 80s and the other was in their 90s.

The county reported 14 new cases. The total number of cases in the county during the outbreak is 10,004. There have been 933 hospitalizations in the county during the outbreak.

With 1,748 cases in Westmoreland County, 1,515 in Beaver County, 983 in Washington County and 750 in Butler County, that brings the total number of cases in the five-county region to 15,000 when Allegheny County numbers are included.

According to the state Department of Health, there have been 503 deaths in the region from the virus: Three hundred and seventeen in Allegheny County, 96 in Beaver County, 49 in Westmoreland County, 24 in Washington County and 17 in Butler County. Washington County reported two new deaths, Beaver County one.
