Amazon To Break Ground On Pittsburgh Fulfillment Center

The new facility is expected to create 800 full-time jobs.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Amazon will break ground Wednesday on its first Pittsburgh-area fulfillment center in Findlay Township. Expected to be operational in time for the 2020 holiday season, the new facility is expected to create about 800 full-time jobs.

The new fulfillment center will be Amazon's 11th in Pennsylvania. The company also has a sortation center and a tech hub in Pittsburgh, as well as operations facilities across the Harrisburg, Scranton, Hazleton and Lehigh Valley areas and employs 10,000 full-time employees across the state.

Expected to attend the groundbreaking ceremony are Amazon officials, state Department of Community and Economic Development Secretary Dennis Davin, Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald, Allegheny Conference on Community Development CEO Stefanie Pashman and Findlay officials.
