AMC Theaters To Close Up To 12 Weeks Due To Coronavirus
The country's largest movie chain will shut down for as long as three months.

PITTSBURGH, PA - AMC Theaters, the country's largest movie theater chain, has closed all of its theaters in response to the coronavirus. The theaters are expected to remain dark for six to 12 weeks.
The closures take effect Tuesday. The company said it wold remain flexible on a reopening date in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations.
"We are ever so disappointed for our moviegoing guests and for our employee teams that the new CDC guidelines that Americans should not gather in groups larger than 10 people make it impossible to open our theaters," AMC CEO Adam Aron said in a statement. "Still, the health and
wellbeing of AMC guests and employees, and of all Americans, takes precedence above all else. We will continue to monitor this situation very closely and look forward to the day we can again delight moviegoers nationwide by reopening AMC movie theaters in accordance with guidance
from the CDC and local health authorities."
